Risk Factors and Short Term Morbidities Associated With Term-Small for Gestational Age Babies Delivered at Nepalgunj Medical College

Introduction: Small for gestational age (SGA) refers to birth weight of neonates less than 10th percentile or 2nd standard deviation below the population norms on growth charts.
 Aims: To identify common risk factors and morbidities small babies.
 Methods: This is a cross sectional descriptive study it has been conducted at Department pediatrics, Nepalgunj Medical college which tertiary level teaching hospital located in western part Nepal. All term born during period from January 2020 December were included. Detailed baseline demographic clinical profile collected recorded predesigned Proforma.
 Results: The most associated with babies our maternal hypertension (14.6%) , GDM(9.6%), Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) 1st trimester pregnancy, anemia, smoking, alcohol consumption, hypothyroidism congenital heart disease. short complications hypoglycemia Meconium aspiration syndrome.
 Conclusion: hypertension, Gestational diabetes Mellitus (GDM), syndrome (MAS).
